We will use Blogger, Google's blog-publishing service, as a kind of online journal. Your blog will give you chance to freely publish your own ideas, generate conversation, track your responses to class readings, think through writing (rather than before writing), experiment with fresh and creative means of expression, and, most important of all, uncover your own unique voice and perspective.
Half of your participation in this class will take place online and asynchronously (i.e. not "live"). Rather than writing your thoughts about course readings in a discussion board, you will have an opportunity to post short video clips (1- to 3-minute long). Use your SMC email to login to our class Flipgrid, and then start posting to the grid for that week (linked in the each week's checklist).

Blackboard will serve as our hub for all things related to grading: assignment submission and grade distribution. I may also record attendance on this site. Any mini-lectures or PDFs of course readings will also be available on the BB page for this course.
Many links on the BB menu will take you back to this site, which is our true course hub.
