Landforms in Sweden
Mount Kebnekaise
Mountains are high rising peaks in land with rounded or pointed tops, usually created by tectonic plates colliding. Sweden is crammed with mountains so much that it is widely known for these beautiful landforms. One well know mountain in Sweden is Mount Kebnekaise which is the tallest mountain in Sweden standing at a whopping 6,877 feet!

Valleys are large strips or land, mostly in between mountains that sink down below sea level like an inverted mountain. These valleys are usually caused by rivers in the process of erosion and often also contain a river in them. One famous valley in Sweden is called Rapa Valley located in in Sarek National Park.
The Muddas Plains in Muddas National Park
Plains are vast areas of flat land that usually contain various species of wildlife. They are like the medium between a valley and a mountain. A famous plain in Sweden stretches 493.4 km squared, taking up all of Muddus National Park! These plains are called The Muddas Plains.
Pålsjö Skog Forest
Forests are areas of land containing lots of wildlife including a large amount of trees, ferns and other plants, making it appear dark even it is the daytime. They also contain many animals like snakes, spiders, and squirrels. One famous forest in Sweden is Pålsjö Skog, a smaller forest on the coast of Sweden only taking up a little more than 420 hectares.
Storglaciären
Glaciers are large slow moving blocks of ice that are usually found in cold climates either in mountians or on shorelines. These massive ice structures only move about as fast as your fingernail grows! One famous glacier in Sweden is Storglaciären expanding about 1.197 miles squared.
Lake Vänern
Lakes are large bodies of freshwater surrounded by land. They contain a variety of wildlife including fish and turtles! One famous lake in Sweden is Lake Vänern. This lake is so famous because of its mass. This lake stretches 2,181 square miles! That is more than half of Yellowstone National Park.
The rushing waters of the Torne River
Rivers are slim stretches of moving water that connect to bodies of water and allows the transfer of materials and wildlife. One famous river in Sweden is Torne River which is 324 miles long and connects the Baltic Sea to a series of lakes in Jukkasjärvi, a town famous for its miraculous Ice Hotel.
Wildlife in Sweden
There are countless species of wildlife in Sweden, but lets focus on two very intriguing animals in Sweden that you might not find anywhere else.
With similar genes to the bobcat, the European Lynx can reach up to two and a half feet in length and thirty pounds in weight. The word "Lynx" is from the Greek word λύγξ, which originates from the Indo-European root "luek" that means "reflective eyes" which is a trait of the Lynx. Lynxes can be a brown or a grey color and usually live an average of a 7 year life-span.
Coming from the animal family of Moose and deer, the massive European Elk is the national animal of Sweden, standing seven feet tall at the shoulders and about 10 feet long down the back. This enormous but fascinating animal also weighs up to 1,200 pounds. That is as much as a small car! The European Elk usually come in a black or brown color and usually live an average life-span of 13 years in the wild.
Geographic Tourist Attractions in Sweden
Ales Stenar is a rock formation on the southern shoreline of Sweden. Scientists believe that it was built by an ancient tribe as a burial structure. A similar structure was found in England known as Stonehenge.
The Bohuslän Coast is a coastline in western Sweden that borders a body of water that borders Norway. It is most know for its hilly, sandy, and grassy beaches and beautiful landscape.
The Northern Lights stop in Sweden! The Northern Lights also known as the Aurora Borealis is visible in Kiruna, Sweden between the months of August and April. The Northern Lights are formed by the collision of electrons with the Earth's atmosphere.
