In Sweden the language spoken is Swedish. The native name for the language is Svenska. In Sweden the second most used language is Finnish; it comes from one of its border countries, Finland. The Swedish language belongs to the East Scandinavian group of north Germanic languages. Until World War II , the Swedish language was spoken in parts of Latvia and Estonia. Now the only place that speaks Swedish is Sweden.
Sweden's original religion used to be the Nordic religion, but that was in pre-Christian times. Now most of the Swedes are Islamic or Evangelical Lutherans. In the per-Catholic times, the most well-known of their early gods were Odin, and his son Thor. Now their most well-known god is God. Sweden's mix of religions is one of the smallest in the world because it is a smaller country but also because it is further north and very mountainous.
In Sweden they believe that everybody has the same rights. One of the more notable things about Sweden is the society's love for the environment and the way they care for the country's sustainability. They are a global leader in sustainable energy, renewable energy, organic agriculture, and recycling. One reason for this is because most people live in small rural areas, and, instead of going to large grocery stores and supermarkets, they shop at local farmers' markets for their food.
