Second grade Science is starting off with a study of plants and then animals. We will also cover the water cycle, space and weather, and matter. We will do a lot of hands-on learning, and we'll even get to spend time in the SHS garden!  

Below you can find the standards we will be meeting this school year. 

• Develop a simple model based on evidence to represent a proposed object or tool. 

• Plan and conduct an investigation collaboratively to produce data to serve as the basis for evidence to answer a question

• Make observations (firsthand or from media) to collect data, which can be used to make comparisons

• Scientists look for patterns and order when making observations about the world. 

• Compare multiple solutions to a problem.

• Analyze data from tests of an object or tool to determine if it works as intended.
