In Second Grade Every Day :
- Prayers: we say a morning and closing prayer, grace before meals.We will practice the Our Father, Hail Mary, Guardian Angel Prayer and Act of Contrition for our Reconciliation. We will learn the Examen and St. Hilary School Prayer.
-Mass: We will participate in weekly mass as well as All School Masses on special feast days and holy days . Full Dress uniform for all school mass please !
YEAR LONG GOALS:
A brief, broad overview of the religion content for the year including the holy Mass, lives and contributions of some important saints and their feast days, Our Lady of Guadalupe, world religions and religious customs, the Bible, what is Faith, the rosary, church seasons and calendar, basic prayers, and the student's second grade sacraments -- Reconciliation and First Holy Eucharist
Students discuss the Golden Rule
Students become familiar with our conflict resolution program: The Toolbox and learn the first few tools.
Students practice the qualities of all Good Listeners - The High Five :

In Room Two students celebrate what makes each one of us unique, different and special..Each month we choose a different character to honor within our growing personalities.
We discuss happiness, citizenship, responsibility, integrity, caring, perseverance, courtesy, empathy, trustworthiness, spiritual love for God, and don't forget ...

Units of Study
Second Graders are taking an important step in their faith journey during this important year of liturgical study. They begin to understand that actions have consequences and start to form a conscience, thus the sacrament of Reconciliation becomes so meaningful. With true love, faith and excitement they approach their First Holy Communion, and celebrate God’s presence in their lives.

Students will be attending Mass with their classmates and buddies . We will also be studying prayers and responses for Mass .
,We pray formally and informally in the classroom during the day, learn and sing hymns and religious songs, read stories from the Bible and learn about the lives of the Saints.
