Embrace the Power of YET
Classroom Expectations
Students are expected to arrive on time everyday, dressed within the guidelines of the dress code. When in class students are expected to be engaged, respectful, and supportive of their fellow classmates. Homework is required to be turned in on time and fully completed with a few exceptions listed in the "Late Homework" section. Ipads should come to class fully charged every day to ensure students can participate in all lessons and quizzes. These expectations are in place to provide a supportive and effective learning environment for all students.
Late Homework Policy
Homework is expected to be turned in on time and completed with clear effort. Late homework is accepted with a 10% deduction for every day it is late. Emergencies and extenuating circumstances are not included and students will receive full credit for late homework in these cases with a note from a parent or guardian.
Ms. Whooley
With dual bachelor’s degrees in History and Political Science and currently pursuing a teaching credential through graduate studies, I am committed to inspiring young minds to embrace learning as a lifelong journey of discovery. Having attended religious schools throughout my life—including Marin Catholic High School—I bring a deep appreciation for a faith-informed approach to education, focused on nurturing both intellect and the spirit.
My teaching philosophy centers on cultivating critical thinkers rather than memorization machines. I strive to foster curiosity, encourage inquiry, and support students in developing the skills to analyze, evaluate, and create meaning, ensuring they carry a lifelong love of learning into all their endeavors.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading and believe a strong reading life enriches both teaching and learning. I also actively engage in athletics as both a volleyball player and coach, where teamwork, perseverance, and fair play reinforce values that extend seamlessly into academics and personal growth.
I'm excited to support students in becoming thoughtful, confident learners who are well-equipped to navigate an ever-evolving world.
Ms. Blitzer
Ms. Blitzer is our wonderful associate teacher, splitting her time between 4th and 5th grade. Her background in art and design is a valuable addition to our classroom and our curriculum. This will be her 4th year at Saint Hilary and she is excited to be working with the upper grades. She will be assisting with classwork, classroom management, planning, and much more. We are very excited to have her in our class this year!
