Hola Clase! Hello class. We are going to start a new lesson on animals / los animales in Spanish

Week of 3/23/20:

Review animal vocabulary terms in Spanish. Watch the video link below it will help the students understand and hear how the words are pronounced in Spanish. Then, draw a picture of your favorite animal from the list below. Label the name of your animal in Spanish. Feel free to share any drawing with me @ hnoonan@saintannies.org. Thanks!

Week of 3/30/20: This week we will be learning about items in your house and how to name different rooms in your house in Spanish. Please watch the video below so you can hear the new vocabulary terms. After watching the video, draw a picture of your favorite room in your house. Later, play a game with you family about rooms in your house. Give them clues about your picture and then have them guess what is your favorite room in the house. Have fun / Tener Feliz!!!!




Week of 4/6/20: This week during Holy Week , I will not be posting a new written assignment. I have attached a link of some Easter vocabulary for the kids. Enjoy watching together! May God bless and keep all of you safe this Easter season. Enjoy the time with your family!

Week of 4/13/20: We will finish our lesson on Home, Sweet Home vocabulary. I will attach a video and if you could play the video and have your child listen and repeat saying the vocabulary terms out loud. Repeating the words out loud are the best way for young Spanish speakers to learn Spanish and retain Spanish.

Week of 4/20/20: This week we will discuss opposites in Spanish.

Here are some new opposite vocabulary terms:

  1. grande / big - pequeno / small

  2. nuevo / new - viejo / old

  3. feo / ugly - bonito / pretty

  4. alegre / happy. - triste / sad

  5. sucio / dirty - limpio / clean

  6. alto / tall - bajo / short

  7. rico / rich. - pobre / poor

  8. abierto / open. - cerrado / closed

Find two opposites aound the house. Take a pic of them and send them to me! I miss all of you!


Week of 4/27/20: This week you will be watching a video about Pedro and his search for treasure. The video is in Spanish so ask someone to help read you the English subtitles. The story has a great message especially in today's world and our new virtual learning. Your assignment is to hug the person that helped you with this video! I miss all of you!

Week of 5/6/20: To finish our lesson on the parts of the face, let's review some vocabulary terms: la cara/ face, los ojos/eyes, la boca/mouth, el pelo/hair, los dientes/teeth, las orejas/ears. This week, I'd like you to draw the best picture you can of yourself. Label all of the parts of your face in Spanish. Feel free to send me your drawings. I can't wait to see them!

Week of 5/11/20: Arco Iris. Rainbow. Please listen to the song in the link attached. It is one of my favorite songs. It is about a rainbow. This year we learned about the colors in Spanish. Go outside and draw your own arco iris/ rainbow. Use los colores: azul, amarillo, anaranjado, rosado, morado, blanco, verde and rojo. Please share photos of your rainbows. They shine bright just like each and every one of you! I miss all of you!!!

Week of 5/18/20: We will begin to review some lessons taught this year in Spanish. I have attached a fun game to help the students review counting in Spanish. You can click on the english/ spanish button to hear the directions in English to help you with the game. Have fun!

Week of 6/1/20: Gracias por un ano fantastico! Thanks for a great year! I hope your family has a fun and relaxing summer!
