Arizona Community Foundation

In partnership with our generous donors, we award millions of dollars annually to help students achieve their educational goals.

Through our online system, students complete one application and are matched with available scholarships based on their eligibility requirements.

Pima JTED Foundation Awards Scholarship

Future Success Scholarship

Pima JTED Foundation awards scholarships of up to $5,000 to eligible graduating seniors who have completed a CTE/JTED program and will continue their education at a post-secondary institution. (Multiply scholarships)

Criteria to Apply:

Student must be a graduating senior
Student must be a concentrator in a Pima JTED (Central or Satellite Campus) Program
Student must have a minimum 3.0 GPA in their CTE Program of Concentration
Student must enroll in post-secondary education institution upon graduation
Student must have participated in the CTE Program CTSO or in a Community Organization
Student must upload high school transcript

Eligibility Requirements

Is a female senior student attending Rio Rico, Sahuarita or Walden Grove High Schools.
Anticipates receiving a high school diploma in the spring of 2026.
Anticipates enrollment in postsecondary study in a community college, vocational/trade or technical school or a 4-year university as a full-time student within six months of high school graduation.
Demonstrates financial need.
Demonstrates academic aspirations and community involvement.
Preference will be given to applicants who have completed the FAFSA application and applied for a Pell Grant.

The Raul Alvarado Memorial Scholarship

Walden Grove High School’s Class of 2021 established this Memorial Scholarship to honor the memory of Raul Alvarado. Raul was born in Kingman, AZ, and grew up in Seligman, AZ. He was employed by the Sahuarita School District for 10 years from 2010 - 2020. He was a Walden Grove campus monitor/security, a big supporter of all athletes, and a friend to all. He greeted students with a smile every morning and at all sports events, and he kindly offered help to anyone in need. Raul’s big heart touched the lives of so many students, staff, friends, and the Sahuarita Community. He will always be remembered for his big smile, vibrant laughter, and great stories.

Eligibility

A resident of Arizona currently or planning to be enrolled in a horticultural-related curriculum at a university, community college, or continuing education program
Be currently employed in or have an interest in the nursery industry as a career
Have an above average scholastic achievement or at least two years of work experience in the industry, and display involvement in extra-curricular activities related to the industry.

Welcome to the Writers of the Future

L. Ron Hubbard's Writers of the Future Contest is an opportunity for new writers of science fiction and fantasy to have their work judged by some of the masters in the field and discovered by a wide audience. No entry fee is required and entrants retain all publication rights. Entries in this contest are adjudicated only by professional writers.

Prizes of $1,000, $750, and $500 cash are awarded every 3 months! The writer of the grand prize-winning story receives the L. Ron Hubbard Golden Pen Award and an additional $5,000 cash prize!

Applicants may submit their original work (up to 17,000 words in length) of all types of science fiction, fantasy, and dark fantasy. Poetry will not be considered in this contest. Horatio Alger Career and Technical Scholarship

This Association reaches out directly to our nation's young people with a message of hope, opportunity, responsibility, and perseverance. This scholarship program provides financial assistance to students nationwide who have significant financial needs and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity. The scholarships are given to deserving 500 students each year for the amount of $2,500 each.

The HAA has 4 scholarship programs: State Scholarships, Career and Technical Scholarships, Targeted Scholarships, and National Scholarships.
