PBIS at Anza Trail

PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports) is the school-wide initiative to promote positive school behaviors and effectively redirect any negative behaviors. PBIS relies on data to help our school discover where and when we can best support our students. Our most popular PBIS initiatives are listed below.

Coyote Coupons

When a student demonstrates positive behavior over and above what is expected he or she may earn a coyote coupon. A student may earn a coyote coupon from helping another student or the teacher, being kind, being a good friend, or a plethora of other reasons.

Students who earn a coyote coupon are entered into a weekly drawing to pick out of our treasure chest of goodies!

Grade levels that earn the most coyote coupons each quarter are rewarded with a special prize, such as extra recess or an out of dress code day.

Coyote Cautions

A student earns a coyote caution when he or she breaks an Anza Trail rule. The caution comes with an immediate consequence and the caution paper is then written out and sent home. If a student earns three cautions in one quarter, a referral is then written and Mrs. Sanders, our assistant principal, follows up with those students.
