Many parents ask, “ When should my child stay home from school?” This is not always an easy question to answer. These tips below originate from the New York Statewide School Health Services Center guidelines. Hopefully, this will help you in your decision-making.
SHES Policy states that you should not send your child to school if he/she has:
If your child becomes ill at school and the nurse feels that he/she is unable to benefit from school or is contagious to other children, parents/guardians will be called to take them home. Please be sure that you have arrangements to transport your child home should this occur. If your daytime or emergency numbers change during the year, please notify the office.
Feel free to call Health Office with any questions or concerns.
