Audio post production is all stages of production related to sound syncing with moving picture and often sometimes radio production. It involves sound design, sound recording, ADR, VO recording & production, extensive sound editing, use of sound effects & foley, mixing and audio mastering.
There are five core sound categories to be familiar with:
- Dialogue
- Atmospheres
- Foley
- Sound Effects
- Music
The lectures will cover:
• The roles in post production
• Pro Tools setups for post production
• Loudness standards for post production
• Audio analysis and processing
Throughout this course, you will undertake three projects:
"Radio Advert" (Due Week 6)
"Animation Sound Design & Mix" (Due Week 11)
"TV Advert" (Due Week 16)
Define the main elements of audio post-production
Analyse characteristics of audio soundtracks
Apply post-production methods in the completion of a soundtrack for motion picture
Describe and apply location recording techniques
Manage audio post-production sessions professionally
Describe basic audio post-production recording techniques
