FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
STEP 1: Create Your FSA ID
Both the student and at least one parent will need to create their own unique FSA ID. This process can take a few days, so don’t wait until the last minute.
FSA ID (Students): You must create a FSA ID. Use the link to print and fill out the information needed to create your FSA ID. You’ll need this ID each year you’re in school, so be sure to store it in a safe place for future reference.
FSA ID (Parents): At least one parent must also create a unique FSA ID. The same process and guidelines apply.
Step 2 COMPLETE THE FAFSA APPLICATION - Once your FSA IDs are set up, you can fill out the actual FAFSA application. This form is required by all colleges and universities and is used to determine the type and amount of financial aid you may be eligible to receive.
