The Vault is where your editors bring you something extra each month. In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, we asked our teachers to share what gifts are most meaningful to them. Here are the responses we saw the most.
By far, the response we received may be the most obvious: coffee shop gift cards! Teachers appreciate a pick-me-up in the form of a drink from Starbucks or the Hive. This is a great option for a teacher appreciation gift for your favorite teacher.
Another thing teachers love receiving for Teacher Appreciation Week is handwritten notes from their students, telling them specifically what they like about their class, their teaching style, or how they have influenced them as a teacher. Taking a few extra minutes to specifically let a teacher know how appreciated they are is a very meaningful gesture that goes a long way in letting teachers know how valuable they are to our lives.
Food is always a very good option for gifts. Chocolate is, by far, the favorite of all food options, but some teachers mentioned appreciating gifts of fruit, candy...even ribeye steak! Additionally, gift cards for restaurants that your teacher likes is a very good option for an appreciation gift.
