During the spring semester, our performing arts programs will be more active. Our class Royal and Elite show choirs will be competing as well as our Dance teams, Winter Color Guard, and Jazz Bands. Here you can find information on our celebrated performing arts groups. Be sure to keep up with our performers through their respective social media pages as well!
Anything Goes is a musical by Cole Porter that follows the antics and love triangle aboard the ocean liner S.S. American, traveling from New York to London. The story revolves around Billy Crocker, who stows away to win the heart of Hope Harcourt, engaged to Lord Evelyn Oakleigh. With the help of a nightclub singer, Billy attempts to break up Hope's engagement.
Our students have been preparing for many months, so make sure to support them by seeing one of their shows May 2-4 in the Homestead Auditorium.
On April 11th our students took a break from their normal school day to enjoy a slew of wonderful performances by our many different performing arts programs. Students saw performances from our jazz bands, show choirs, dance teams, orchestra, percussion band, and winter guard. Thank you for the AMAZING performance. The students and faculty thoroughly enjoyed it.
Every spring, Homestead hosts a Spring Arts Gallery to highlight the works of our incredibly talented students. This event gives students the opportunity to get their artwork out there in front of their peers, family, teachers, and staff. Teachers oftentimes will take their classes to go view their peers' artwork during class time which shines a light on these artists while also providing a fun break for students. For a chance for parents to see their child's artwork the National Honor Society holds the NHS Coffee House where families can enjoy a fun night at Homestead of viewing art, watching live performances by students, and enjoying warm beverages. This was another great year for the gallery and we look forward to next year!
Our Homestead Jazz Bands put on a great show for all those who attended their annual Jazz and Java event on April 16th. At this event all three levels of our jazz band as well as the middle school jazz bands perform for family and friends to showcase what they have been working on throughout the year. While listening to the live music, the audience could buy baked goods and warm beverages to enjoy throughout the evening which made for a truly special experience. Make sure to congratulate them on a job well done!
