Hello Spartans!

Extracurriccular activities at Homestead aim to get students involved and to provide opportunities for every student to pursue their passions. Homestead offers approximately 100 clubs that cater to various ideas and interests, fueling the diversity of the community and preparing students for the next steps in their journey both on and off campus. National Honor Society Induction

The National Honor Society (NHS) is a nationally recognized academic club offered to Homestead's upperclassmen that promotes academic excellence, good character, and service to the community. Homestead's NHS chapter currently has 128 members from the class of 2023 who are required to maintain a 3.900 GPA, be in good standing with the school, and complete 10 service hours per school year once inducted. This month, Homestead will induct 16 members from the class of 2023 and 134 from the class of 2024 to join this group of hardworking students. To the right is a list of all 2022 inductees that will be joining NHS for the 2022-23 school year. Congratulations, Spartans, on this amazing academic achievement!

The NHS induction will take place on November 16th, 2022. Inductees with last names beginning with letters A-L will begin their ceremony at 6 p.m. and those with last names M-Z will begin their ceremony at 7:20 p.m.

Not in DECA, what the hecka?

DECA is an internationally-recognized business competition club open to all high school grade levels. Students who participate in DECA grow their leadership, communication, and presentation skills by competing in events relating to hospitality, marketing, finance, or management. Homestead DECA is one of Indiana's most competitive chapters and has been an integral part of Homestead's community for decades. No matter your level of experience, Homestead welcomes you to join DECA in the 2022-23 school year! There will be a callout meeting for DECA members on Tuesday, November 3rd where competition details and preparation will be discussed. March 5th-7th, 2023- State Competition (Indianapolis)- QUALIFIERS ONLY

Japan Travel Opportunity: Summer 2023

South Pacific Travel Opportunity: Summer 2024

Unavailable in the summer of 2023 but still want to travel? Not only is there a trip to Japan this summer, but there is also a travel opportunity in the summer of 2024! During this trip, students have the opportunity to travel and explore the South Pacific, which includes New Zealand, Australia, and Fiji over the course of 12 days.

Academic Support and Tutoring

  • Classroom Teacher Support: Communicate with your teacher(s)! Ask for help! Every teacher will be willing to work with you! Students should make every effort to work with specific teachers before or after school.

  • National Honor Society (NHS): Free Tutoring in all subjects from our Junior and Senior National Honor Society students is available. Email your counselor to start the process of being matched with an NHS tutor.

  • World Language Tutoring: See your world language teacher for a contact list of peer tutors in all languages! Additionally, click HERE for a schedule for when Spanish teachers are available to tutor students.

  • Peer/Student Math tutors: See your math teacher for a list of student tutors and contact information. Don't forget about the Math Resource Room available during your Study Hall period.

  • Ask Rose: Ask Rose is a free math and science tutoring service for Indiana and other students in grades 6-12. Tutors are Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology students who major in math, science or engineering—which means they’re more than equipped to help with just about any math or science homework problem.
