The Vault

Welcome to The Vault!

The Vault is a new rendition of what was previously known as "Archive." We have spiced up the page to include some pictures from Homestead teachers and staff in their younger days, and we hope to continue highlighting different parts of Homestead for many articles to come! Here in The Vault you can also find past editions of The Spartan Times from each month of the 2023-2024 school year. Enjoy taking a look back in time in The Vault!

The Spartan Times

Here you'll find previous Homestead Newsletters for your convenience. These sites are sent out each month via email and ParentSquare. A lot of events and information are sent out each month, so The Vault provides an easy way to access all recent updates. Each newsletter has updates on academics, athletics, guidance information, special opportunities, and notable Spartan accomplishments!

vaulting back in time

Each month, we will be taking a look back at the school days of some of the Homestead staff and teachers! Many of our staff has graciously shared pictures from back when they were in high school, many of them growing up in Indiana. Here we can see a little sneak peek of what shaped the wonderful teachers and staff who are guiding the students today!

First up...

Señor Peeper and Señora Bailey

Sra. Bailey was Sr. Peeper's Spanish teacher at Bluffton High School. She took a group of students on a trip to Spain when Sr. Peeper was a freshman. Here is a picture of both of them in 1997 ... and a second picture of when they both went back to Spain in 2017 (20 years later almost to the day!) at the exact same spot. This picture was taken at Montserrat, located just outside of Barcelona. Both Sra. Bailey and Sr. Peeper are now Spanish teachers at Homestead.

Next up...

In 1988, Mrs. Rybolt was named All-SACS for softball her junior year of high school at Wayne. She was the first left-handed catcher around! She was varsity all 4 years and played in college at Saint Francis. She is pictured in the bottom left hand corner with her maiden name, Knox. Mrs. Rybolt has been the computer specialist here at Homestead for 9 years!  You may also notice Woodside Language Arts teacher Melissa Parker in the upper left corner of the newspaper clipping.

And now...

In light of the recent passing of the former head Indiana men's basketball coach, Mr. Hill pulled out this picture of him with Coach Bob Knight at the Bob Knight Basketball School some time in the mid 80s. He is the kid in the middle at about 13 years old!

and finally...

When Mrs. Cronk was in high school, she attended New Castle High School. Mrs. Cronk was the drum major in the school's marching band. Additionally, she was a member of New Castle's volleyball team. These extra curriculars helped challenge her in new ways. Mrs. Cronk now teaches Anatomy and Physiology here at Homestead!

Check out more highlights of our beloved teachers below!

Madame Borders

This was taken in a photo booth in Paris during Madame's high school exchange year! She now teaches French at Homestead.

Mrs. Fritsch

This was most likely the year 2000 in math class. Mrs. Fritsch is now a computer specialist.

Mr. Tuckey

Here is a picture of Mr. Tuckey from about 8 years ago, presumably going up for a jump shot. Mr. Tuckey is now a math teacher.

Mrs. Busch

In her four years of high school at Bishop Luers, she won 2 runner-up volleyball state rings and two state basketball rings, 1 being runner-up and the other being a state championship ring. She now teaches Health and PE class.

Mrs. Crawford

Mrs. Crawford pulled out this throwback to the "Legacy" Gym from around 1992. She is pictured on the left, and the Spartan insignia can be seen in the upper right of the picture.

Mr. Beer

Mr. Beer was a baseball player back in high school. Now he is an English teacher!

Mrs. Baltes

Throughout her time in high school, Mrs. Baltes chose to particpate in various extra curricular activities. Now an English teacher, Mrs. Baltes was once a cheerleader for her high school!
