Hi 5th Graders!

We are almost to the end of the school year! This week I want to talk about summer reading. It's very important to keep working on your reading skills and continue to read as much as you can. Hopefully the public libraries will open soon and you will be able to visit the teen room. In the meantime use Epic to find free ebooks.

Week 10 Assignment (6/1 -6/5)

Welcome to week 10 of distance learning 5th Graders!

We are switching to the below free ebook vendor for the remainder of the year to finish reading "Save Me a Seat".

  1. To gain access to EPIC email me at lcronin@sachem.edu and I will add you to my class roster and give you a login code.
  2. Once you have the login click on Epic | The Leading Digital Library for Kids | Unlimited
  3. Go to Students on the menu.
  4. Type in your class code.
  5. Find your name and click on it.
  6. Type in Save Me a Seat
  7. Listen to as many chapters as you would like and send me a brief summary. (There are 49 chapters in this book and we have until June 30 for free ebooks) So...if you would like to finish this book, keep listening as much as you can.

Week 9 Assignment (5/26 - 5/29)

Hi 5th Graders! This week we will continue to read the book "Save Me a Seat". Please listen to chapters 3-4. Send me a quick summary and what your predictions for the next chapters are. Have a great week! I miss you all!

  • Log in to Capstone interactive: Username: continue Password: reading
  • Type in the search bar A Coding Mission
  • Click on the book then click Play Book
  • Read/listen to the book
  • Next, click on the word contents on the bottom of the page after reading the book.
  • Then click on Solve a Maze. Follow the directions.
  • Send me a pic of your maze.
  • Have fun!
