Sheryl Amallobieta is a fourth-grade teacher who has worked in Sachem for 22 years. Ms. Amallobieta worked as a Technology Integration Specialist for BOCES Model Schools before becoming a classroom teacher. She has worked with K-12 teachers to help integrate technology into their curriculum. Ms. Amallobieta runs a student-centered classroom. She is helping to prepare her students for the 21st century by implementing the PBL process into her classroom as well as creating a classroom environment to help promote the soft skills that are required for the 21st century working world. Through this innovative design, each student gets differentiated instruction and becomes empowered in their learning experience. In her fourth-grade classroom, students are learning the curriculum through a Flipped Classroom approach. In addition to her professional career, she is enjoys spending time with her two sons, traveling, the outdoors and exercising.Â
