Abstract: The talk will be an interactive session, leading to philosophical issues about the definition of mathematics and finally arriving at a definition of mathematics.

About the Speaker: Prof. Ravindra Kulkarni is a distinguished differential geometer. He was the Guggenheim fellow for the academic year 1980-1981. After his stint as director of Harish Chandra Research institute, he was also the head of the Mathematics department at IIT Bombay.
