Pocahontas State Park is a state park located in Chesterfield, Virginia, the United States, not far from the state capital of Richmond. The park was laid out by the Civilian Conservation Corps along the Swift Creek, and at 7,950 acres was, at its creation, Virginia's largest state park. The trails are free to use but parking is $7 on a weekday and $10 on a weekend. It includes an assortment of mountain bike trails for all skill levels from jumps to rollers to fire roads. It also includes the swift creek lake for fishing and cooling off in the summertime. There are also offered campsites and a pool in which payments are required. I have spent a lot of time mountain biking at Pocahontas and as a result I have not only improved my skills, but visiting this park has flourished my passion for mountain biking. Mountain biking is a great exercise and a great opertunity for family bonding time spent outside in nature.
