Belle Isle is a small 54-acre island in the city of Richmond, Virginia. Belle Island lies within the James River and is owned by the city it serves as a city park. It contains tons of isolated river access and beaches, climbing rocks, bike jumps, pump tracks, and paved as well as unpaved trails for walking dogs, running, or biking. Entrances are free although city parking may require a small payment if you’re not able to find free parking. There is a walking bridge over the river to get to Belle Isle. I’ve enjoyed going there throughout many years with my family and friends and have made many valuable memories. I love being outside and this was a perfect way to enjoy the sunshine and get some fun exercise.
