GT Identification Timeline:

STEP 1  REFERRAL FOR TESTING

The referral period is the month of January in which students can be referred for GT testing.  The parent, guardian, or teacher may pick up a testing referral form from the front office or request one be sent home with their student. Students must have a signed referral in order to be tested.

Assessment will begin for Kindergarten in February for students who have been referred. After the Kindergarten students are identified, we begin testing the 4th grade, 3rd grade, 2nd grade, and finally 1st grade students who have referrals.

All students will first be given the assessments listed in STEP 2 and then a committee will meet to discuss their scores. Once the committee meets, acceptance or denial letter will be sent home with each student’s testing results.

Kindergarten students will be identified by March 1st and will begin being served in our GT program. All other students will begin classes the next school year.
