After graduating from Stephen F. Austin State University, my teaching career began in Klein ISD where I taught 4th grade in a self-contained classroom. In 2002, I transferred to Cypress-Fairbanks ISD where I spent six years teaching 4th grade language arts and social studies. In 2008, my family and I relocated to Kilgore, my hometown, where I continued my career in education in Kilgore ISD. During my ten years with KISD, I taught 3rd, 4th, 7th, and 8th grades.
In May of 2018, I graduated with my masters degree in school counseling from Lamar University which allowed me the opportunity to pursue a career as a professional school counselor in Sabine ISD. I love being part of the Sabine Middle School team and am looking forward to another fulfilling year as a "counseling cardinal".
The highlight of my life...I have two daughters, Rylie and Kamryn. I also have quite the animal menagerie: Tank the Tortoise (our students love when he visits); 2 cats ~ Juke and Oreo; 1 dog ~ Marlie; and last, but not least, a bull. I guess you can say I love animals.
Rylie recently graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington and is pursing a career in a managerial position. Kamryn, currently an education major, attends school at Sam Houston State University and hopes to become an elementary teacher and coach.
I'm also the bonus Gigi of our little peanut, Sawyer. Who knew having a little one running around would be so much fun (especially when you can send them home to their parent).
