Sabine Middle School feels that character development is paramount in developing healthy values.  It is our goal to encourage positive qualities so that our students will develop good character, make appropriate choices, and be effective leaders.  Our character building initiative includes a focus on developing the following traits: Caring, Helpful, Adaptable, Respectful, Ambitious, Cooperative, Trustworthy, Empathetic, Resilient .

Throughout the school year, staff members will be on the lookout for students who are exhibiting positive character in our school.  Students who have been "caught behaving the CARD way" will earn tickets that they will be able to enter into a drawing for a visit to our school store, have the opportunity to be included in a Top 10 ticket earner luncheon at the end of each six weeks, and have the possibility of being nominated for our Student of the Month recognition.

We hope, that by providing this positive behavioral intervention and support, our students will become intrinsically motivated to be CARDS of character and true leaders on our campus.
