David Lynch Films

David Lynch is an Academy Award winning film director and filmmaker, creating uniquely obscure films that intrigues a wide range of audiences. Due to their ambiguity, there are no definite meanings or lessons portrayed through his movies, causing many watchers to construct their own theories on them. Some fans have seen clear connections between his films, but there has been no prominent research done on the films’ similarities. My goal is to discover different personas, objects, and similarities throughout David Lynch’s movies and how they are shown in each of the researched films, as well as what these portrayals represent as a whole. I am striving to identify specifically what character personalities and prominent objects are added into each of the movies that I am looking at, and what those elements represent.
