I originally went into this project just because I wanted to do research on the vaquita, but as I was researching the porpoise I found another porpoise that was also endangered. The other endangered porpoise is the Yangtze finless porpoise. I planned on looking into the government regulations that were being put into place for these porpoises, but as I did my initial research I was finding more situations of conservation efforts rather than government regulations. I have started on work with making a rubric on how I will judge the conservation efforts for each porpoise by going through population trends and starting to look into situations of certain areas that would cause those areas to be more focused on conservation compared to others.
