During my research into the consumer market for electric vehicles, I gained extensive knowledge about the dynamics of the automotive industry, including the production, distribution, and marketing of traditional and electric vehicles. I delved deep into the technological advancements and regulatory frameworks that have fueled the growth of electric vehicles in recent years, including the development of efficient batteries, charging infrastructure, and government incentives. I also analyzed the various factors that influence consumer behavior when it comes to purchasing a vehicle, such as cost, performance, environmental impact, and brand reputation.
Ms. Dobos has been there for me every step of the way and I really appreciate everything that she has done for me.
Avinash Khanal has been there for me every class period and helped me mentally. He has also reviewed my paper and website to make it more appealing to any audience.
In a modernizing world marked by new technological developments, the idea of “reinventing the wheel” seems as if it has the potential to become a possibility day by day. While we haven’t gotten to that point yet, automakers worldwide have taken the first step in tomorrow's transportation: reinventing the car. In carmakers’ rush to create revolutionary, moving technologies, many consumers are left with the question: Are electric cars up to par with gasoline cars? With gasoline cars being a well-established method of transportation, having many years to be improved and redesigned, electric cars are new to the market, and there’s research to be done on their capability to keep up with the established gas car. Taking into account survey statistics and feature lists from car manufacturers themselves, I compiled a list of the most sought-after features that consumers looked for when needing to buy a new car. I used Microsoft Excel and chose specifically the Tesla Model S, 3, and X. Based on the results, it was found that electric cars aren’t that far behind gasoline cars in terms of technology and features. Additionally, many manufacturers have cars planned for the future that will even surpass gas cars, such as the Cadillac Lyriq. Thus, future implications for this research, keeping in mind that electric cars have the ability to even match gas cars in the current status quo, could mean that as we move to a sustainable future, we leave gas cars behind entirely with the increase in the technology of electric cars.
Furthermore, I gained a comprehensive understanding of the development process for electric vehicles, including the challenges and opportunities that manufacturers face in designing and launching these products. I learned about the various stages involved in the development process, from ideation and design to prototyping and testing. I also explored the role of sustainability and ethical considerations in the development of electric vehicles, including the use of eco-friendly materials, responsible sourcing practices, and reducing the carbon footprint of production. As a result of this research, I feel confident in my ability to make informed decisions about my own consumer purchases in the future, considering both the practical and ethical aspects of my choices. Furthermore, my studies in marketing have allowed me to analyze the impact of marketing strategies on consumer behavior, particularly in the context of electric vehicles. I have examined case studies such as the launch of Cadillac's Lyriq and have been able to identify how various marketing practices influence consumer perceptions and purchasing decisions. Overall, my newfound knowledge and skills will enable me to be a more informed and critical consumer, as well as a more effective marketer in the future. As I reflect on the process of writing an academic paper and organizing my presentation, I realize that I gained valuable insights into how to effectively structure my ideas and articulate my research. Through this experience, I developed the ability to create clear and persuasive arguments that are more likely to convince my audience. This knowledge will undoubtedly serve me well in my future academic pursuits, especially in research-based environments where strong communication skills are crucial. Moreover, while I have always been passionate about pursuing a Marketing degree, this research project deepened my interest in consumer behavior and decision-making processes. As I delved into the topic, I discovered new avenues for exploring the intersection between my love of cars and my academic pursuits. This realization has not only confirmed my career aspirations but also opened up exciting possibilities for post-graduation career opportunities. Additionally, completing this project has given me a better understanding of my strengths and weaknesses as a student. It has highlighted certain skills that I excel in, such as critical thinking and research, while also revealing areas where I need to improve, such as time management and organization. Armed with this self-awareness, I can better focus my efforts on developing the skills necessary for academic and professional success.
