To make this piece the first thing I had to do is pick a picture from one of my previous projects, I then had to crop it to a 8" x 8" ratio to then be printed. I then took the wood surface made sure it was smooth, then I put a thick layer of polycrylic paint onto the wood. Once the paint was on I took my image and flipped it over so the ink was facing down. When putting the image on the wood it had to be as even as I could get it. Then image then had to be smoothed onto the wood, tying to get as much of the polycrylic to soak through the paper and you let it dry fully overnight. Once you have it dried you need to get a little bowl of water, you get some water on your fingertips and start to lightly make circles over the white paper making sure not to rub too hard because it could make the ink come off underneath. You then switch between rubbing the paper off lightly and then letting it dry until you have gotten as much o the white off as you believe to be possible. One you have it completely dry you put a thin layer of polycrylic paint over the top and then you let it dry one more. And now it's finished. There is a few spots where when I was smoothing out the image onto the wood I got some of the polycrylic on the white back of the image and that then dried and made it difficult to get the paper off. I like how involving and hands on it was as well the fact that we could pick what picture we wanted to use.
