Recently, along with the social empowerment movements of Hollywood, there has come a massive amount of push for movie studios to more accurately represent the greater population, by gender or otherwise. This has led Hollywood, and the American film industry in general, to massively increase the diversification of cast members, award shows, and general production in race, sexual orientation, and gender. This so-called progress inspired me to look into how the diversity affected the films they are placed in. My research aimed to discover if this forced diversity has been beneficial to the characters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, one of the most successful film universes at the box office and otherwise in recent memory.
