" Every ending is a new beginning. We just don’t know it at the time." - The Holiday
We are finally at the end of this long but worthwhile journey. The process has found many worthwhile results. Starting off with multi-dimensional characters we see. As a reminder, my alternate hypothesis will believe that there is statistical significance, that there is convincing evidence that there is an impact on multi-dimensional character moments within the romantic comedy genre. I will be using the commonly accepted significance level 0.05 and seeing how it correlates with my probability-value, commonly known as the p-value. If we can reject the null with a lower p-value, we can prove significance. In order to conduct my two sample t-test I divided the data halfway to see if there was any improvement or any significant changes between the halfway point in the occurrences of multi-dimensional female characters. After conducting my test, we came up with the t-statistic of -4.25 and a p-value of 0.00045 The p-value of 0.00045 is less than our significance level of 0.05, therefore, we can reject the null hypothesis. From this we can conclude that there is a significant relationship between the progression of time to the number of occurrences of multi-dimensional female characters. After conducting the t-test again for voyeurism we see The results were a p-value of 0.006 which again leads to rejecting the null hypothesis. However, in the case of voyeurism rejecting the null means that there is a statistical significance in an increase of voyeurism throughout time. Even though an increase may seem good, voyeurism is associated with sexualization of women based on the studies offered, therefore, it shows that there was an increase within the sexualization of women. As we can see my data led us a nuanced approach rather than just a pure yes or no answer.
The process while mainly defined by the data collected, would not be truly been given service unless we analyze the skills I learned throughout the process. The oral defense helped me learn how to improve my public speaking skills. While it was not my finest moment, it was a learning curve into how to make presentations interesting and actually accessible to people who don't know the topic how you do. Public speaking will never dissaper from my life, and the oral defense helped me life-long develop useful skills on how to not fidget when nervous, to utilizing bolding patterns within your presentation to make it interesting. The paper made me a stronger researcher and how to analyze both sides because analysis isn't black and white.
While many academic lessons where learned nothing is more important than the life lessons I received from this process. The most important being; it's okay not to be perfect. Throughout my life, I've always believed in all or nothing. There was no middle-ground leading to me being stubborn and miss out on the process. The research process , however, was not rainbows and sunshine but rather a journey with hurdles and dead ends. Starting from topic selection, where my original project was just not accessible, to even the oral defense and forgetting a whole slide and explaining my visuals. However, the lack of perfection is what allowed this process to be a learning curve and help me demonstrate immense growth throughout the process.
Romantic Comedies have been the corner stone of our world of media through box office hits of My Big Fat Greek Wedding, to critics choices of Roman Holiday. This study analyzes how through feminist film theory and analysis of factors relating to voyeurism and multi-dimensional females; how have romantic comedies evolved throughout time. An analysis from the 50s to the 2020s was conducted and found that while there were improvments within the potrayal of women as flawed and humane; sex symbol statures still to this day exist.

This fall, I will be attending the University of Oregon's School of Journalism and Communication as an advertising major. While my research process may be over, feminism in romantic comedy films deepened my appreciation for the film industry, revealing the power of storytelling in shaping culture and perceptions. This experience has changed my goals to enter into the world of entertainment publicity and advertising, and I hope to one day contribute to this dynamic industry
"Rome wasn't built in a day" is the phrase but I would issue a change to Rome wasn't built by one person. My research project could not have been done without the support of the people near me. While these don't encompass everyone who supported me; I would like to highlight a few people who supported me fully through this process.
Mrs. Dobos and Mr.McBride thank you for being there every step of the way. Thank you for making this attainable and something that was of my own passions and not that of fear and being overwhelmed. Our talks helped me learn about how to adapt my project, but also on how to be an ever-changing person academically and in my social world.
My parents thank you for entertaining my late night talks about my project, to being my most important cheerleaders when I felt like giving up. Whether it was through bringing in water or food while I busy collecting data, or reassuring me the morning of the presentation; I couldn't have done this process without your constant support of me.
Satvika Karri and Sophia Mahen while we have been friends before this class I would love to thank you for your constant support during this process. Whether it was listening to my crazy ways of getting to the final product, or just even the best bit of sunshine I needed on days where everything looked like it was going wrong. I can't wait to see all that you guys accomplish at Creighton and Boulder. Here's to more laughs!!!
Mr.Chapman thank you for always being someone that lets me grow whether it is making me approach uncomfortable feelings and questions or just being someone who can listen. I'm extremely grateful for the support you provided throughout the process and the college application process.
Mr.Burridge this project would have been incomplete without figuratively and literally. Thank you for being there for the final presentation and always being a figure of comfort within the process. Also thank you for being available to answer all my data analysis statistics, no matter what time it was.
Mrs. Burnham I can't believe it's been 4 years since my first class with you. You've been a crucial figure to me through navigating high school, debate, and even the capstone program. I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for your faith in me for succeeding throughout the process.
