Dear Orchestra Parents,
Every successful school music program is supported by hard-working parents. Orchestra Parents United Support (OPUS) is an organization made up of Brunswick parents who fundraise and help support their orchestra program by donating their time. You are already a part of this amazing group by having a student in the orchestra program! It is important for parents to attend meetings to help brainstorm ideas, be aware of on-going efforts to support the program, and help organize/volunteer for fundraisers. OPUS has a strong Parent Officer Board (see below), and is looking for someone to train for a future treasurer position, as well as adding a secretary!
Purpose of OPUS Fundraising:
Supply teachers with funds to purchase needed orchestra classroom supplies (fingerboard tapes, manipulatives, stickers, etc)
Supply teachers with funds to purchase needed sheet music for instruction, concerts and adjudicated events
College scholarships for high school seniors
Summer String Camp scholarships for MS orchestra students
Purchase more instruments to lend to families in need
Fund exciting musical opportunities for orchestra students, such as Electrify Your Symphony, field trips, special guest clinicians and more!

Will recap last year, set up this year’s fundraisers, plan/discuss upcoming Tailgate event
