Baseline ImPACT Testing is to be performed at home for all incoming 7th, 9th, and 11th grade Student-Athletes. Any athlete new to the district will be asked to perform a baseline test as well. In addition, any students who have not completed a baseline test within the 2 year window required by ImPACT will be required to baseline test as well.
Each Athlete necessitating a new Baseline Test will receive TWO email notifications to their RYENECK.ORG email address. The first is an individualized link directly from ImPACT for the student-athlete to complete their Baseline Test. The second email will be a follow-up from Coach Dranoff stating that you must ImPACT test. These emails are not automatically generated but manually cross-referenced, so please be patient.
**Your ability to begin practicing or trying out for a team will not be affected if you do not complete a Baseline Test. The Athletic Department requests you complete your baseline test before the first Athletic Contest of your season.**
What is Impact Testing?
ImPACT's Test is a computerized cognitive test that takes about 25 minutes to complete.
If a concussion is suspected, the baseline report will serve as a comparison to a repeat (Post Injury) ImPACT test, which professionals can use to assess potential changes or damage caused by a concussion. The test results are then sent to our Neuropsychologist and Credentialed ImPACT Consultant, Dr. Jay Dunkle, who reads the results and recommends the athlete's next step in the recovery process.
