Practicing Team Work!
Reading Buddies are encouraging the kinders to practice reading the pictures in books and discuss what they see.
In math we have been measuring length. When we measure vertical length we used the math words taller and short and the same.
Then we learned math words "full" "empty" to use when we are measuring volume at sand and water station.
During our literacy block, we are learning how to blend and segment sounds, form letters and create words, read left to right, and get our ideas down on paper using a mixture of "kid writing" and "adult writing".
We are also learning about how to write about the pictures we draw in our journals using "kid writing". If you want to know more about what kid writing means, click on the EXTRAs tab at the top of this page.
November 6th's "mystery reader" was Ms. Pieterse. She is our learning resource teacher and she read to us a Dr. Suess book.
November 13th our Mystery Reader was Mrs. Gervias, our school principal. She read a book called " The Good Egg"
Our Adventure Walks over the last few weeks has revolved around Remembrance Day. First, we went to the Meadow Lark Trail and collected rocks the same size as the palm of our hands.
Then, we painted them to look like poppies.
Finally, we placed them at the Beiseker Museum as gifts to our community.
