2024-2025 Extended Learning Registration is Now Open!
The Extended Learning Program (formerly referred to as Lighted School House or Afterzone) provides educational, social, and recreational enrichment to students and their families at select locations throughout the Greater Racine area.
Engagement – Students are actively involved with exciting new learning opportunities.
Consistency – Students attend regularly and make continuous progress.
Success – Students achieve improved academic and social skills!
The Extended Learning Program in continued partnership with the schools, families, and communities we serve, supports scholastic success, and social and emotional development for the youth of Racine. We support and help to strengthen and raise students through enrichment programs in the arts, literacy, math, science, culture, health and wellness, leadership training, character development, and mentoring.
The unique program experiences offered through the Extended Learning Program take place in safe and nurturing environments that support self-discovery, personal growth development, and freedom of self-expression. While space is limited, availability of programming options vary by site and grade level. We encourage timely and prompt enrollment into any program of interest to you or your student.
Our program serves students and families FREE OF CHARGE thanks to RUSD allocated funding, the generosity of community partners such as the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, and The United Way of Racine County. Keeping our program experiences free to you helps us remove cost as a potential barrier to participation.
*Supplemental activities, special events, and clubs may incur an out of pocket expense for participants.
