In 2019, Elect Her alums were
30% more likely to plan to run for student government after attending the workshop.
2019 alums reported big jumps in their belief in their abilities to: engage their networks in their campaign, be strategic to get the most votes, run for office, and make an elevator speech.
In our 2020 longitudinal study, alums let us know if they ran for office. Most of those who ran, won!
Allyson attended Elect Her at Howard University at just 17 years old. She immediately ran for Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner in Washington, DC. When she won, she became the youngest-ever elected official in DC. She later ran for president of Howard's student government and won that election, too.
