The Downing Digest and Bingham Buzz originated as monthly newsletters created by Bingham and Downing's principal, Ms. Yezzi. Over time, The Downing Digest moved into a student-led newspaper. Today it remains a student broadcast, where the students take on the role as journalists and reporters of school news and happenings. The Downing Digest was even featured on PHL 17's TV show, "Weekend Philler" in 2019!  

The Bingham Buzz joined The Downing Digest as a newscast for the first time in the 2019-2020 school year. While both Bingham Buzz and Downing Digest were on pause during the Pandemic, it started back up almost 2 years afterwards. Both serve as a great opportunities for students to build confidence in public speaking, build reading fluency/accuracy from repeated readings for the broadcasts, encourages leadership opportunities in various aspects in the club, and gives students an understanding about the inner workings of behind the scenes video production, green screen, and online video editing.
