Each student is provided a school owned iPad from Year 3 - 6
We believe that:
Devices are and will be fundamentally embedded in our student's future
The best way of ensuring students know how to use this with purpose and safety, is by embedding best practice
Developing digital citizenship is the first step in approaching digital independence
We believe that:

This agreement is introduced at the start of the year during Computer Science and form time
We ask for a digital version to be signed when the student starts school
The principles within this agreement are also delivered within our Computer Science curriculum and digital wellbeing, Whole Me lessons
> View our curriculum overview
We take a restorative approach to any student who breaks this agreement with the iPenalty pathway:
The device course detentions mentioned consist of a reflection activity on the Acceptable Use Policy and Common Sense Education digital citizenship courses
At the i3+ level, we have also partnered with HealthyGaming to access their device addiction course
🎧 Earphones from Home
We recommend bringing earphones rather than over-ear headphones so they may fit in pencil cases
We discourage bringing expensive earphones such as Beats or AirPods due to the ease of loss
📜 All students will be expected to follow and sign (via their parents) the Acceptable Use Policy as part of the school's policies
🛡️ iPad traffic is routed through our School's firewall. Where possible, inappropriate content is blocked and our safeguarding and EdTech teams alerted so educational conversations may be sort with students. iPad history is accessible by the School and alerted to inappropriate activity
🎓 Staff undergo continuous training in the latest digital trends and safety
🧑💻 School's student Tech Team and staff EdTech Team provide support to students via Google Classroom and in-person support
📲 School will repair / replace an iPad on the 1st breakage or loss. Additional breakages or loss may result in charges to parents
🔌 Students are provided charging trollies in each classroom to allow students to ensure their iPad is fully charged at the beginning of each school day
✅ Checkpoints are conducted periodically and at random to ensure appropriate iPad use
📲 Students are not expected to continue work once the school day finishes and unless instructed by a teacher, have no need to access their school account at home
☑️ Families are encouraged to visit our Digital Wellbeing page for advice on how to setup their children's devices at home for maximum safety and security
🛟 The school will report any additional loss or breakage to parents on the same school day
📲 School will provide sign-in to students at school if they require home access
🎮 Students will be coached via our assembly, computing, Whole Me and integrated lessons on how to use their devices with focus and purpose
