Tuesday: Audience: school staff. principal. peers
Model text:Should the senior school and junior school be separated during play?
To answer a question like that, we need to look at the logistics of the environment. What I mean by this, is to look at the space we need to occupy. Senior school as you can imagine are much larger in stature to the junior school. This needs to be considered because if the senior school are playing in the playground and then the junior school also want to, they may very well be trampled during play. We must consider the safety of even our smallest student.
Monday: Write a narrative or recount of your trip to Vector Wero Kayaking on Friday.
Model text: Splash!! Whoa I did not expect the water to be that deep. When Mrs C told us we were kayaking on Friday, I had a big flutter of butterflies in my stomach. (This paragraph focuses on emotions.)
I was excited but so scared.
The butterflies were still there because of what happened last year, yes, that's right, I tipped over, panicked and had to be rescued. How embarrassing. (Now I am elaborating on why I feel those emotions by giving more details.)
Refer to your writing prompt sheet. Think about the WALT as you go.
