These are 2 phrases I use in my classroom for when students have shown an act of Kindness (Kiss Your Heart), or Hard Work/ Thinking (Kiss Your Brain!)
For students who are showing "Acts of Kindness" or "Hard Thinking" throughout the day, they may be sent home with an "Award" to share their success with you at home!
*Below is a picture of what the awards will look like!
In my classroom I like to create a "Family" feel, as you will see, while we spend much of our time throughout the week together! It's important to me and is also a part of my teaching philosophy to build a classroom community of encouragement, safety, support, kindness and hard work! Below you will find some of the things we build upon and that I look for each day from the kiddos!
Be Kind
Do Your Best
Have Safe Hands & Body
Listen & Follow Directions
Help Others
Teamwork
Upon students arrival, there are some "Morning Routine" jobs that we make sure we do to allow our day to start off GREAT! In the beginning of the year there are pictures in the classroom to help guide the kiddos/ remind them of what they need to do. We then slowly transition into them to become more of a "responsibility".
Hang up my backpack on my cubby.
Pass In Notes/ Folder to Mrs. Hinton.
Check myself in/ Make Lunch Choice.
Hop in line to wash my hands.
Sharpen Pencil/ Table Work
Seesaw is an online platform that we will be using this year for the following...
Uploading student work, often, upon completion in the classroom so you can stay up to date with what we are learning.
A form of communication between Teacher/ Parent throughout the week & school year.
I understand this may be a new platform for some, but we will be learning and growing together this year, so I ask that you are patient with me and I will do my best to respond as quickly as possible to any posts and messages!
