Mrs. Ridgeway brings a diverse background in teaching, administration, and higher education. Prior to becoming Superintendent, she has serviced as the Principal of the East Belfast and Gladys Weymouth schools in RSU 71. Prior to that she served as Dean of Students at China Primary School, where she supported the implementation of school-wide management systems, coordinated staff professional development, and led student support initiatives. She also previously taught as an Adjunct Instructor at Thomas College’s Lunder School of Education, preparing the next generation of educators through courses in elementary instructional methods.
Earlier in her career, Mrs. Ridgeway taught in classrooms in Maine, Alaska, and Louisiana, gaining valuable experience in a range of educational settings and building a broad understanding of instructional practices and student support systems. Her leadership journey began as a member of the MSAD 49 School Board, where she chaired the Finance Committee and developed a strong foundation in educational governance and fiscal responsibility.
Mrs. Ridgeway holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government from St. Lawrence University, a Master of Public Policy in Public Finance from the Muskie School at the University of Southern Maine, a Master of Science in Teaching, Learning, and Curriculum from Drexel University, and a Graduate Certificate in Language Acquisition for ESL from the University of Alaska Anchorage. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Education at the University of Arizona Global Campus. Known for her collaborative leadership style, clear communication, and “determined optimism,” Mrs. Ridgeway has earned high praise from colleagues for her integrity, vision, and commitment to fostering excellence in education.
