Online Learning Tips

As we enter this chapter of education, we are faced with new challenges. Here are some tips to be sure you're a successful online learner:

  • Attend Your Online Classes: 80% of life is showing up.

  • Participate: staying engaged helps you stay focused.

  • Stay Organized: keep your planner or Google calendar updated and refer to it often. Missing deadlines is a surefire way to struggle in school.

  • Check Your Email Regularly: Your email is your connection to school. Neglecting it will lead you to fall behind.

  • Manage Your Time: Prioritize your assignments, get your work done before play, and don't procrastinate!

  • Hold Yourself Accountable: Figure out how to motivate yourself. You won't have your teacher standing over you to keep you on task.

  • Follow Instructions: Make sure you read the assignment directions and understand them before diving in. Get it done right the first time.

  • Ask For Help: Don't be afraid to ask your teacher or the SSC for some help. The dumbest question is the one you don't ask!

Early College Options for High School Students

Early college allows students to take credit bearing college level courses while they're still in high school. They're often at a reduced rate or even free! This is a great way for students to save money on college down the road.
