Throughout the year, we will host several school socials as part of our social activities. These socials offer a fun and safe environment for students to interact with their peers. We refer to these events as Socials because our goal is to allow time for students to connect with friends and although there is a DJ we encourage group dancing, enjoying food, and talking with friends. These are for all 6-8 interested students. Here are a few key points:
Dates and Times: The dates for our socials will be communicated in advance via the FMS weekly announcement and posted on the school’s website. Socials are on one Friday night per month from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and the entrance fee is $5.
Dress Code: Students should follow the school's dress code policy, ensuring their attire is appropriate for a school function.
Behavior: We expect all students to behave responsibly during socials, showing respect for staff, chaperones, and their classmates. Cell phones must be kept in the office during the social and should not be out or in use during the social.
Snacks: Snacks (usually pizza and an assortment of candy) and water or Gatorade are available for purchase during the social.
Pick-Up and Drop-Off: Please ensure your child arrives on time and is picked up promptly at the end of the event. Additional details will be provided before each dance.
Chaperones: We are always happy to have parent/guardian chaperones. We will put out an email when we are looking for chaperones. It’s a fun way for you to see the socials in action!
These activity days are held 3 times a year. Our goal is to create fun small group activities where students can connect and create a sense of community. We encourage students to try new activities and branch out by meeting new people. We will share the activity offerings and there will be a permission slip that goes home along with more detailed information before each Fab Friday. We value these days and there is an expectation that students will participate.
