Students in grades 6-8 receive weekly direct gifted and talented services. Individual plans are revised annually through collaboration with the gifted specialist, teachers, guardians, and the student. Marshwood Middle School students participate in universal screening for gifted services in 7th grade.Â
The gifted specialist consults and collaborates with classroom teachers to support: differentiation, curriculum compacting, and the development of learning extensions. The gifted specialist supports students as they explore their interests and passions through independent study. At Marshwood Middle School, students receive academic and social-emotional support through the team approach.
