Counselors host freshman seminars, which occur during advisory time in the Counseling Conference room. We enjoy the time getting to know our students a little better, and students are provided with a fidget and snack.

Academic preparation for college and career
Sophomores will participate in comprehensive career awareness and exploration small group activities. The purpose of the programming is to enable students to make the connection between content areas, schoolwork, and career, college, and citizenship goals. Students will complete a Career Interests Assessment through Scoir, and intrperet their results; learning how to naviagte the career exploration resources we offer.
All 10th grade students take health class for a semester. During this semester long class, SEL topics covered include:

Responsible decision making
Social Awareness
Conflict Resolution
Managing Stress
In the spring, the KHS counseling staff prepare to meet with juniors to offer resources and support for long-term planning/career and college exploration.
