Advanced Art focuses on building a portfolio of work that will be used in the Spring Fine Arts Night but could also be used for college applications. We will explore the qualities of work that are required for college portfolios. Throughout the year you will be using skills and knowledge that you have learned so far as well as new skills, techniques, processes, and mediums that are introduced this year to create creative and unique works of art that have an impact on the viewer. We will be working with goal setting and time management to create a plan to create a portfolio that best represents who you are as an artist. Your work should demonstrate great understanding of how the elements and principles of art can impact a composition as well as how mediums, subject matter, style, and technique can impact artwork. We will continue work with viewing art and critiquing it using the 4 steps of critique. We will explore how art history and culture has impacted artwork of different times.
