1) ALWAYS ASK AN ADULT FIRST.
2) STICK TO SITES THAT ARE JUST RIGHT FOR KIDS.
3) ONLY TALK TO PEOPLE YOU KNOW.
A search engine is a tool that helps you search the internet. At South School we don't learn how to use the internet until fourth grade. The internet is a busy place filled with strangers. When we go online it is important that we ask an adult first and stick to sites that are just right for kids. It is also important to remember that we don't talk to strangers or give out private information.
Kidtopia is a search engine developed by teachers and librarians and only includes sites that they recommend.
