ACE ART at OMS: Through a partnership with CMCA, ACE Art students participate in specialized "ACE Art Workshops" to explore and develop their individual style through explorations of different media and create a portfolio in the process. These workshops provide opportunities for individual pace and development as appropriate, to meet students' ALP goals developed in coordination with art and ACE faculty.
At OMS, ACE Art students also participate in a Community Mentor program. ACE students are paired with a local artist volunteer who meets with them during the duration of the program (an academic quarter.) Students share projects they are working on in their middle school art class and artists share connections with their own work and artistic journeys, emphasizing the process of making art and what’s learned along the way. Fostering students’ courage and confidence and helping students notice and appreciate their progress are also important aspects of this work.
ACE MUSIC at OMS: Through a partnership with the MCMA, ACE Music students participate in an "ACE Music Workshop" series addressing various aspects of composition, musicianship and performance as appropriate, to meet students' ALP goals developed in coordination with music and ACE faculty.
