There have been 68 set of brothers who earned Varsity letters over our 50+ years, and the majority of those have been the two-brother variety. We have had four four-sets, and seven three-sets - and oddly enough, we've only ever had three sets of twins suit up in the Maroon and White. Here are some noteworthy numbers, etc. about brothers:
⚽ Thanks to Hogan Kern's outstanding 2023, he helped bump up himself and his brothers to #2 on our all-time scoring list.
⚽ In the fall of 2023, we had twins play for us for the first time in a long time... well... kind of - Dylan and Tanner LaPorte are actually a pair of a quadruplet set. And how about this for small town - their uncle Jim Waters played with that last set of twins to play, Craig and Scott Michael, who lettered back in 1980-81!
⚽ Four sets of brothers have scored in the same game: Patrick and Brady O'Neill v Parma in 2022; Hogan & Zach Kern v Bard Early College in 2021, Cory and Andy Weidner v Brookside in 2003, and the Pampushes did it a whole bunch back between 1972-75 - Jeff and Mike 4x, Mike and Chuck 2x.
⚽ Four times a brother has assisted his brother. In a playoff game back in 2017, Dylan Keeling assisted on a goal by his brother Nate, becoming the first brothers to get the G and the A on a score for us since Spencer and Sutton Klodnick connected many times back in 2013. Joe, Mike, and Chuck Pampush hooked each other up a bunch, too.
Below is our Top 17 Brother Combo Scoring Stats.
Trent and Chase Newby are one of three sets of brothers to have won the Honeyman Award after their senior soccer season. Trent (L) did it in 2013, and Chase (R) did it in 2014. The others are the Fialas - Tim (1991) and Kevin (1995), and the Franks - Chris (1985) and Rick (1987). How crazy is it that all three have surnames of just five letters?!
