As you review this list, it may strike you that there aren't many players on it who played in the 1970s. The reason for that is in the earlier part of that decade, we didn't play all that many games in a season. Towards the end of that decade and into the mid-1980s, teams reached as many as 20-22 games in a season. Starting in the 1987 season, the OHSAA decided that teams would have a 16-game regular season, and then as many playoff games as they earned.
For the second time in as many years, we have a new career leader in games played. Stephen Cain took over the top spot after the 2024 season, and by playing in all 19 of our games this season, Eric Gorius became our all-time leader in appearances.
