When you look at our all-time scoring list, it's easy to overlook what Roman Rosul did during his career in maroon & white. Yes, there have been 11 boys who have equaled or surpassed his career numbers over the past 55 years since he last played. But consider the following:
⚽ Rosul amassed his totals of 42 goals and 16 assists in just 17 games. Say what you will about the quality of the defenders he faced back in those early days of high school soccer, but it takes tremendous ability to do what he did.
⚽ Rosul was our scoring leader for 26 years before Brad Petzinger surpassed him, and it took six more years before Taylor Haley accomplished the feat. Petzinger played three years of varsity soccer, and Haley played four.
⚽ In terms of output, our current career points leader Tony Soric may have doubled Rosul's total output, but he can't come close to matching Rosul's 5.9 points per game average, as he racked up his 201 points in 71 contests - an average of 2.8 ppg.
